Ingredients:

  • 4 Hapus Mangoes
  • 4 to 5 Tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • 5 to 6 Chopped Garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/3 Teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 tablespoon jiggery
  • Salt
  • 1 Glass water

Method:

Wash the mangoes in running water and cut their black tops. In a deep pot add water and put all the mangoes in it. Keep this pot on a gas. Boil it on a medium flame. Cook them till soft. Switch off the gas.

Remove the water from the mangoes and keep aside for cool down.

Once they cool, remove the mangoes skin. Remove all the pulp from the skin.

Now mangoes mixture is ready.

Heat a kadai in a medium flame. Add oil. Once oil heated add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and chopped garlic. Sauté well. Add red chili powder and turmeric into this tadka. Mix well and pour the mangoes mixture into it. Add salt and jaggery to taste. Stir well.

Add one glass water. Mix well. Lid on the kadai and keep the gas on low flame.

Cook for 10 minutes. After that switch off the gas.

Serve this raita with bhakari or rice.
