Ingredients:

  • 1 Bowl Medium Size Prawns
  • 2 big size chopped onions
  • 2 to 3 chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 3 to 4 slit green chilies
  • Chopped coriander
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Curry leaves
  • 3 to 4 kokum

Method:

How to clean the Prawns:

Remove the prawns head and pull off the tail. Now peel off the remaining shell and legs. There is a small black line on the top of the prawns. You can remove it with the hand also. But, if you are new learner in this process then use knife. With the knife, to cut a small line on the prawns back and remove those black thread.

Head a kadai on a medium flame. Pour some oil. Once oil heated add mustard seeds.  Now add curry leaves and slit green chilies. Then add chopped onion. Mix well. Allow to cook till onion change the color. Now add ginger garlic paste. Saute well. Cook for 2 minutes. Now add chopped tomatoes. Mix it. Cook the tomatoes till mushy.

Mix it well. Now keep the gas on a slow flame. Add red chili powder, turmeric and some chopped coriander into it. Mix well.

Now time to add prawns. Add the prawns and salt. Don’t add water. Mix well. Allow to cook on a slow flame. Keep lid on kadai.

For medium size prawns, it will take 7 to 10 minutes for cooking. Once the prawns cook nicely add kokam into it.

Again mix well.

And allow to cook for another 3 to 4 minutes. Now add freshly chopped coriander before switching off the gas.

Serve hot with bhakari or roti as you like it.
