Moong Dal and Rava Uttapam.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bowl yellow moong dal
  • ½ cup semolina
  • 1 green chilies
  • ½ inch ginger
  • Salt
  • Oil or bitter.
  • Vegetables Mixture for Uttapam
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 medium size chopped onion
  • 1 chopped tomatoes
  • Chopped coriander
  • 1 tablespoon peri peri masala.

Method:

Soaked the moong dal for 4 to 5 hours in the water. Also soaked the rava, before 15 minutes of grinding.

Now grind the soaked dal and rava with green chili and ginger. Make a smooth batter and add salt. Mix it. Keep aside for at least 30 minutes.

On the other hand. Mix all the chopped veggies and peri peri masala. (Instead of using peri peri masala, you can also use red chili flakes or any other basic spices. But the peri peri masala gives very nice taste to this uttapam. So must try.)

Once the veggies mixture ready, start making uttapam.

Heat a dosa pan on a medium flame. Grease the tava with oil, Pour spoonful of batter on the middle of the pan. Spread it in circular shape. Keep it thick.

Now spread the veggies on it and press it with fingers. Add some oil or butter on the top. Keep the lid and allow to cook for 2 minutes, then turn from other side. Keep it on the tava for another 2 minutes. It helps to cook the veggies.

Once both side cook remove the uttapam from tava. And make another one.

Serve this delicious uttapam with Chutney or tomato ketchup.
