Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Kolam Rice
  • 1/3 cup toor dal
  • 1/3 cup moong dal
  • Turmeric
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoon sambar masala
  • Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustered seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 dry chili
  • 4 to 5 tablespoon tamarind and jaggery pulp
  • 2 glass water
  • Chopped coriander
  • 3 to 4 tablespoon oil
  • Cashew and peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • Vegetable:
    • Drumstick
    • Beans
    • Carrots
    • Tomatoes

Method:

Wash dals and Rice together 3 to 4 times and soaked for 30 minutes. After soaking add Turmeric and salt in to it. And pressure cook them till 4 whistles.

Soaked the tamarind in a warm water. Squeeze all the pulp from tamarind. Add jaggery into this pulp. Keep aside.

Now, heat a kadai on a gas in a medium flame. Pour oil. Once oil heated add mustered and cumin seeds. Once the seeds splutter add asafoetida, curry leaves and dry chili. Sauté well. Now add Chopped vegetables into this tadka. Add ginger garlic paste and salt and mix well. Keep the lid and allow to cook for 5 minutes. Now add Chopped tomatoes. Cook well till tomatoes mushy.

Once vegetables cooks add sambar masala and turmeric. Mix well and add some water to cook the spices. Now time to add tamarind and jaggery mixture into this vegetable. Mix well.

Now add cooked dal and Rice into this vegetable mixture.  Add water. And stir well. Let cook for 5 minutes on a low flame. Add Chopped coriander on the bisibele bhaath.

Now heat a tadka pan add tablespoon of ghee and add cashew peanut. Saute till it changes the colour.  Now add this fried cashew and peanuts on a rice. Mix well.

Serve this delicious Bisibele Bhaath with papad.
