Kande Pohe with Potato Recipe.

·2 bowls of flattened rice (Poha)

·2 chopped onions medium size

·3 to 4 Green chillies

·1 chopped tomato

·1 big cut boiled potato

·2 tablespoons black gram skinned (Urad Dal)

·1 tablespoons mustard seeds

·Pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)

·Curry leaves

·3-4 tablespoon peanuts

·1 teaspoon turmeric


·Coriander and grated coconut for garnishing


Wash flattened rice under running water, drain excess water and allow to stand for 15 minutes. Very important to soak a flattened rice in a right way. Take a vessel and put on medium flame. Add oil in vessel once oil is heated, add mustard seeds. Wait till mustered seeds splutter. Than add 2 tablespoons black gram. Keep gas on medium flame only. Once the Dal change the colour add peanuts and fry for 2 minutes on low flame. Then, add asafoetida, curry leaves, chopped onions and chilies. Fry onions till golden brown than add chopped tomatoes.

Once tomatoes gets soften add boil potatoes. Fry entire masala than add turmeric and salt. Saute well. Now time to add flattened rice in this masala and adjust the salt as per the requirement. Mix well. Cover with lid for 2 minutes. Mix again. Now the delicious Kande Pohe with potatoes ready to serve.

Before serving, garnish Kande Pohe with coriander and grated coconut.
