Konkani Crab Curry.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Medium Size Crab
  • 1 chopped Onion
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, Garlic, Chili, Coriander paste
  • Chopped Coriander
  • 2 to 3 tablespoon Red Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 5 to 6 Curry Leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • 4 Glass of Boil Water
  • For Masala Paste:
  • 1 chopped Onion
  • ½ cup grated dry Coconut
  • 5 to 6 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon Garam Masala powder

Method:

Firstly clean and wash the crab for making curry.

Now heat a pan on a medium flame, roast the all dry spices. Remove it from the pan. Now in a mixture jar add dry spices and make a fine powder so the garam masala powder is ready to use.

Now for preparing masala paste. Heat pan on a medium flame, roast the grated dry coconut with some garlic cloves. Transfer it into the plate. Then, add onions in a pan with chopped ginger. For frying the onions add little oil. Fry till onion change the color to brown. Transfer fried onions into the dry coconut.

Allow to cool down for few minutes.

Now take a mixture jar, add fried onion and dry coconut into the jar and add 1/2 teaspoon salt, turmeric, coriander leaves, 1 tablespoon garam masala powder. Grind till fine paste in the mixture grinder.

Don’t use water for grinding. Now the masala paste is ready.

Now heat a dip pan on a medium flame.  Pour 3 to 4 tablespoon oil. Once oil heated, add curry leaves and chopped onion. Sauté well.  Cook the onions till change the colour.  Add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste. Mix well. Add red chili powder and turmeric. Add masala paste into it. Stir it nicely. Allow to cook for at least 5 minute on a slow flame. Now add the clean and washed crabs into it. Add some salt.

Add boiled water on the crabs. Mix well. Keep the gas on high flame. Allow to make a nice boil. Once boil came up keep the gas on a medium flame.

Allow to boil on medium flame for at least 15 minutes.

Once crab cook add chopped coriander. Mix well and switch off the gas.

Garnish this delicious crab curry with some chopped coriander. Serve with chapatti, rice or roti.
