Aloo Methi Subzi Recipe.

  • 1 cup chopped Methi
  • 2 chopped Onions
  • 1 Big Potato
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Aamchur Powder
  • Salt
  • Oil


Pluck the methi leaves from the stalks. Transfer them into the water for cleaning. Rinse them at least 4 to 5 times.  Now remove them from the water. Keep them in plate for a 10 minutes.

Now chopped the fenugreek (methi) leaves and keep aside.

Now heat a kadai on a medium flame. Now pour 3 to 4 tablespoon oil. Once oil heated add cumin seeds. Once cumin seeds splutter add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste. Sauté well then, add chopped onion. Cook the onion till change the color. Now add square shape potatoes into it. Add turmeric and salt. Mix well.

Kip lid on a kadai and allow the potatoes to cook nicely. Once potatoes cook add red chili powder, cumin coriander powder, garam masala powder, aamchur powder. Mix it again. Then add chopped fenugreek leaves. Add salt if required. Mix well. Now keep lid on a kadai. And allow to cook for another 5 to 7 minutes. Once subzi cook. Switch off the flame.

Now methi aloo is ready to serve.

Serve with phulka.
