Methi Muthiya Recipe.

  • 1 Cup Chopped methi
  • 1 Cup Wheat flour
  • 2 Tablespoon Samolina (Rava)
  • ½ Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 2 Chopped green chilies
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 Tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • 2 Tablespoon curd
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Red chili powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin coriander powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala powder
  • ½ teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1 Teaspoon Oil
  • Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Soda
  • 2 Teaspoon Lemon juice
  • Water
  • Oil For Frying


Take one mixing bowl. Add chopped methi leaves and ½ teaspoon salt into the bowl. Mix with the hand.

Then, add all the ingredients one by one like, add red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin coriander powder, garam masala powder, asafoetida, sesame seeds, chopped green chilies, ginger garlic paste, curd, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Now add semolina, wheat flour and gram flour into this mixture. Again mix well.

Now add soda and on the top of the soda squeeze lemon juice then add very little water and make a nice dough. Don’t use much water for kneading this dough.

Now allow to rest for at least ½ hour.

After ½ hour again mix the dough smoothly. And make small rectangular shaped rolls from this dough.

Now heat oil in a kadai on a medium flame for deep frying the muthiya. Now put muthiya into the oil and cook on medium flame till golden brown and crisp.

Now transfer this crisp muthiya into the plate and serve with green chutney or tomato sauce.

You also use this muthiya into the undhiyu.
