Ingredients:

  • 2 Cup Rice
  • ½ Cup Urad Dal
  • 1 Cup Shredded Coconut
  • ½ cup cooked rice
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Oil

Method:

Wash both rice and dal at least for 4 times. Soaked under water for 6 hours. After 6 hours, grind the dal and rice with cooked rice and coconut. Keep the mixture like a dosa batter. Mix well. Keep it in a warm place for 10 hours.

After nicely fermented the batter add salt in it. Mix well. Batter is ready for making appam.

Heat an appam kadai in a medium flame. Add some oil and spread it to the bottem of the kadai.

Now pour big  spoonful of batter in it. Spread the batter in a circular direction. Lid on the kadai. Cook the appam on a low flame. Once the appam cook and crisp well remove it from the kadai.

Same way make the all the appam from remaining batter.

Serve with chutney.
