Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup Sabudana
  • ½ Cup Chana Dal
  • 1 Bowl Grated Coconut
  • ½ litre water
  • Fried Dry Fruits ( Cashew, almonds and raisins)
  • ½ Cup Jaggery
  • Pinch of Salt
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder

Method:  

Wash and soaked the chana dal overnight for at least 8 to 10 hours.  Also soaked the sabudana.

After 8 to 10 hours, keep the dal for boiling on the gas also add 1 to 2 glass of water at the timing of boiling.

Other side will start making coconut milk. Add grated coconut and water in the mixture jar and blend for couple of minute. Pour this mixture in a strainer to extract the milk. Press with hand or spoon on the coconut mixture so that all the milk is strained.

Follow this process for at least 4 to 5 times. The thick portion of milk keep it bowl and the thin portion of milk keep it in another bowl.

Other side checks whether dal cooks or not. At the timing of boiling a dal, the cloudy water comes on the dal. Remove those cloudy portion from the dal. Add thin portion of coconut milk into dal. Stir it well. After some time add soaked sabudana into the dal. Sabudana will cook in 10 minutes.

Now time to add jaggery, salt and dry fruits. Mix well.

Cook for 4 to 5 minutes on a low flame. Once all the mixture is cook properly add thick coconut milk and cardamom powder into the mangane.

Boil for 5 minutes and switch off the gas.

Serve hot and enjoy with the family.
