  • For Marination:
  • 1 ½  tablespoon Red Chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric
  • 1 whole Lemon Juice/ Kokum Juice/ Tamarind Pulp
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger, Garlic, green Chili, Coriander paste
  • Salt


Marination is the process before cooking and in a Indian food spices used for marination is red chili powder, turmeric, garlic, ginger, lemon and other spices.

Marination help to flavored and tenderized the food and make more delicious.

Clean the pieces of fish in running water. Transfer those fish in a plate.

For marinating the fish, will prepare the paste.

Take a mixture jar, add long piece of ginger, 7 to 8 garlic cloves, 2 to 3 green chili and coriander. Add some water in it. Make a fine paste from mixture grinder. Use water if required for grinding.

The paste is ready for marinating the fish.

Now, apply red chili powder, turmeric, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste and salt on the fish.

(Many people use tamarind pulp or kokum juice instead of lemon juice for marination of fish.)

Apply the masala on the fish properly. Keep aside for marinating for at least 1 hour.

Now the marinated fish is ready to fry. You can also keep this marinated fish in airtight container and keep it in the fridge.

And you can use this marinated fish for next 3 to 4 days. Because we applied turmeric, lemon and ginger to the fish, it keeps the fish fresh and juicy.
