Ingredients:

  • 1 bowl thick semolina (Rava)
  • For Green Peas Mixture:  
    • 1 cup green peas
    • Coriander
    • 2 Green chili
    • 4 to 5 garlic
    • ½ inch ginger
  • 1 Chopped onion
  • 1 cup thick curd
  • Salt
  • 1 glass water
  • 1 sachet ENO
  • For Tadka:
    • 2 tablespoon oil
    • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
    • ½ Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
    • 1/3 teaspoon asafoetida
    • 1 teaspoon Urad dal
    • Curry leaves

Method:

In a mixture jar add green peas, coriander leaves, garlic, ginger and green chilies and make fine paste.

Now take one mixing bowl, add 1 bowl rava. In rava, add whisk curd, green peas mixture, chopped onion and salt. Add some water to make a perfect batter. Mix well.

Now will prepare a tadka. Heat a tadka pan on a medium flame. Add oil. Once oil heated add, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, urad dal and curry leaves. Once dal changes the colour. Switch off the gas. Pour this tadka on the rava batter and mix well.

Keep the lid on this mixture. Keep for rest at least for 15 minutes.

At the time of making aape. Heat the aape pan on a medium flame. Fill the each cavity with 1 teaspoon oil.

Now see the aape mixture. If the rava soaked the all water and mixture look dry then add some water to make a perfect batter. Now add ENO. Immediately mix well. And fill the each cavity of aape pan with the batter. Allow to cook on a slow flame. Keep the lid on the pan to cook well.

After 2 to 3 minutes, turn the aape and allow cooking from other side. Once both the side cook well, remove it from the pan. Again fill the cavity with oil, pour the batter and cook it.

Serve this delicious Green Peas Aape with Chutney.
