  • 4 Raw Banana
  • 2 chopped onion
  • 2 green chili
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 1/3 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 5 to 6 Curry leaves
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/3 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Chopped coriander
  • ½ cup grated coconut


Peal the Raw Banana and cut into the small pieces. Keep these pieces in water.

After cutting the raw bananas wash them for two times. And again kept it in water. Now heat a pan on a medium flame.  Pour some oil. Once oil heated add cumin seeds, curry leaves, Chopped chilli and asafoetida.  Then add Chopped onions. Sauté the onions till change the colour. 

Now add ginger garlic paste and mix well. Add red chilli powder and turmeric and chopped coriander. Sauté well.

Now add Banana pieces and salt into the onions. Mix well. Keep the lid on a pan and allow cooking on a slow flame.

For cooking the raw Banana it will take at least 20 to 25 minutes.  So check the subji in between and stir it.

Once subji cooked add grated coconut.  Mix well. 

Switch off the gas.

Serve this raw banana subzi with roti or bhakari.
