  • 1 Bowl Finely Chopped Spinach (Palak)
  • ½ cup Gram Flour  (Besan)
  • 1 Cup Sorghum flour (Jowar Flour)
  • 1 Chopped onion
  • ½ Cup chopped coriander
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 ½ Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin coriander powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Oil for greasing and frying
  • Salt


Take one mixing bowl, add chopped palak in it.

Then add, chopped onion, coriander, sesame seeds, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala powder, cumin coriander powder, ginger garlic paste and salt. Mix well. Then add both the flours and add water. Make a mixture like, shown in the picture.

Don’t use much water for making vadi mixture.

Now take any tin grease it with oil. And transfer this mixture into the tin. Heat the pressure cooker and place this tin into the cooker. Remove the whistles from pressure cooker. Cover with lid and allow to steam for at least 15 to 20 minutes on a medium flame.

After a 20 minutes, switch off the flame. Remove the tin. And allow to cool. Once it’s cool, remove the entire mixture into the plate. Then, cut the vadies in a square shape.

Heat oil in a kadai, and fry the vadies from the both the sides till crisp and brown.

Serve this vadies with mint chuntney and tomato ketchup.
