Restaurant style Mattar Paneer Recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Fresh Green Peas ( Hare Mattar)
  • 250 gm Paneer ( Square Pieces)
  • 2 finely chopped Onions
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 7 to 8 Chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoons red Chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 tablespoons Garam Masala powder
  • ½ tablespoons Cumin coriander powder
  • 2 tablespoon thick Curd
  • 1 tablespoons kasuri Methi
  • 2 tablespoons clarified Butter
  • 1 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 glass water
  • Salt
  • Chopped Coriander.
  • For Masala Paste:
  • 2 Big Size Chopped Tomatoes
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • 1 inch chopped ginger
  • 10 to 12 Cashew (Soaked in the water)

Method:

For making masala paste, take a mixture jar. Add chopped tomatoes, sliced green chilies, chopped ginger and soaked cashew. (Soaked the cashew in warm water for at least 30 minutes). Don’t add water for making this paste. Grind it as a fine paste. Keep aside.

Heat a kadai on a medium flame. Add green Peas into the kadai with ½ cup of water. Keep a lid on the kadai and allow to steam for 3 to 4 minutes. If you have fresh green Peas, it will take to 3 to 4 minutes. Don’t overcook. Cook the green Peas 80%. Now remove the green Peas from the kadai. And transfer it into the plate.

On a same kadai pour some oil. Add paneer pieces, sprinkle some red chili power on it. Sauté for a minute till golden colour come it.

Now remove the paneer and transfer it into the plate.

Now, for making matter paneer, heat a kadai on a medium flame. Add 2 tablespoon ghee and 1 tablespoon oil. Once ghee heated, add cumin. Once cumin sputtered, add chopped garlic and chopped green chilies. Sauté well.

Now add finely chopped onions. Cook the onions on a very slow flame till golden brown. Then add Ginger garlic paste. Mix well. Cook it for 1 minute.

Then, add tomatoes paste and 2 tablespoon thick curd into the onions. Mix well. Keep stir it. Cook it on a medium flame.  Stir it continuously, till oil get separated. Now add all the spices. Add red chili powder, cumin coriander powder, garam masala powder and turmeric. Mix well. Now add ½ cup of water and salt. Cook for 5 minutes on a slow fame.

Then, add crushed kasuri methi. Mix again. Now add cooked green Peas into the gravy. Then, add paneer pieces. Mix well. Keep the gas on a slow flame. And allow to cook for another 2 minutes. Check the salt. Add if required.

Add chopped coriander for garnishing. Switch off the flame. The delicious mattar paneer is ready to serve.

Serve hot Mattar paneer with phulka or naan.
