Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Semolina  ( Prefer Jada Rava)
  • 1 Cup Mango Puree
  • ½ Cup Clarified Butter ( Ghee)
  • ¾ th cup Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 2 glass boiled Water
  • 1 cup boiled Milk
  • 8 to 10 Saffron Strands
  • Nuts, cashew and raisins.

Method:

Before starting the recipe, keep the water and milk for boiling separately.

For the mango puree, here I am taking a fresh Alphonso mango. Alphonso Mango is very famous in Kokan Region in Maharashtra. Alphanso also called as Hapus Aamba.

Wash the mango and peel it. Remove all the flesh from the mango. Add this mango flesh into the mixture jar and make a fine puree.

Now will start making Mango Sheera.

Heat a kadai on a medium flame. Pour Half cup ghee in the kadai. Allow to heat for 1 minute. Now add semolina into the ghee. Stir it slowly. Keep the gas on a slow flame. Stir it till semolina changes the colour and become golden in colour.

Now add chopped dry fruits (Cashew, Almonds and raisins) into the semolina. Mix well.

Once semolina turned brown add boiled water slowly slowly (Don’t put entire water at one go). Mix it well. Cover with lid. Keep the gas on a slow flame.

Check after one minute, if semolina looks dry put more boiled water. Mixed it well again and cover with lid.

Now time to check semolina. Remove the lid and you can see Semolina double in size that means it cooked properly. Now add some Saffron Strands and mango puree into the sheera. Mix well. Add sugar into it. Again mix well. Allow to cook for another 1 minute.

Now you can add 1 cup hot milk and mix it well. Cover with lid and keep for 5 minutes on slow flame. Now remove the lid and add cardamom powder. Stir it. Keep on a gas on another 1 minute. Then, switch off the flame.

Mix it properly and Mango Sheera is ready to serve.

Garnish this delicious “Mango Sheera” with dry fruits and some chopped pieces of mangoes and served hot.

Enjoy.

Thank you.

 Have a wonderful day.
