Ingredients:

·     1 cup sago/tapioca pearls (sabudana)

·      ½ cup peanuts

·      3 to 4 chili

·      1 cup boil chopped potatoes

·      1 teaspoon cumin seeds

·      3 to 4 tablespoons clarified butter

·      Salt 

Method:

Wash the Sago cleanly. Then soak the Sago at least for 4 hours before making of khichdi. At least add 1 glass of water for soaking 1 cup of Sago. Soak till it became soft and fluffy.

Heat a pan on medium flame and roast the peanuts till became crunchy. Switch off the flame, wait till peanuts turn normal in temperature. Then, remove the skin of peanuts. Crush the roasted peanuts in mortar and pastel. Do not over crush. Remove the crushed peanuts and add the 2 chilies in mortar and pastel. Crush the chilies and make a thick paste. Add both crushed peanuts and chilies into the sago. Mix well. Keep aside. 

Now heat a vessel on a medium flame. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of clarified butter. Add 1 teaspoon of cumin. Once, cumin start spluttering, add 2 to 3 piece of chili than add chopped boil potatoes.

Fry till potatoes turns golden. Sprinkle little salt on the potatoes as per the taste. Now add the mixture of soaked Sago, crushed peanuts and chilies into the potatoes mixture. Add salt for the taste. Remember, we have already added some salt in potatoes. Mix well on medium flame. Cover the vessel with lid and slow the flame. Keep it for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove the lid mix the Sabudana Khichdi.

You can see that colour has changed. Cook the Khichdi for another 5 minutes. Sabudana Khichdi is ready to serve.
