Tendlichi Sukkhi Bhaji.

  • 250 Gms Ivy gourd ( Tendli)
  • 2 chopped onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Peanuts
  • 5 to 6 chopped garlic
  • 2 chopped green chillies
  • 5 to 6 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • Oil
  • ½ Teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1/3 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/3 Teaspoon asafoetida
  • ½ Teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt
  • Chopped coriander
  • ½ cup grated coconut


Wash the tendli then cut them in thin slices.

Heat a pan on a low flame, add 2 tablespoon oil. Add mustered and cumin seeds. Once seeds splutter add curry leaves and peanuts. Cook the peanuts on a slow flame till change the colour.

Now add asafoetida, curry leaves, garlic and green chilies. Sauté well. Now add chopped onion. Cook the onion till change the color. Add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and turmeric. Mix well.

Now add slices of tendli and salt. Mix well. Keep the lid on the top of the pan and allow cooking. Mix well after 5 minutes.

You may check the tendli is cook or not. It will take 15 minutes to cook.

Once tendli cooked add grated coconut and add Chopped coriander into the subji. Mix well and keep the pan on a gas for 2 minutes more. Switch off the gas.

Serve this delicious subji with roti.
