  • ½ kg Lady Finger/ Okra ( Bhendi)
  • 2 Chopped Onions
  • 4 to 5 curry leaves
  • 3 to 4 Chopped green chilies
  • 4 to 5 Chopped garlic
  • 5 to 6 curry leaves
  • ½ cup grated coconut
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt
  • 3 to 4  tablespoon oil


First wash the bhendi and dry out through cloth. Now cut the tops of every bhendi and cut into the small pieces.

Now heat a kadai on a medium flame.  Now pour some oil into it. Once oil heated, add mustard seeds. When its splutter, add curry leaves, chopped garlic, chilies and onions. Saute the onions till change the color.

Now add turmeric and chopped bhendi into the onions. Add salt and mix well. Keep lid on a kadai and allow to cook on a medium flame. After 4 to 5 minutes remove the lid and mix the bhendi.

Once bhendi cook add grated coconut. Mix well and cook for another 1 minute.

Bhendi bhaji is ready to serve.

Serve with chapatti or phulka.
