Bread Pakoda Recipe.

Ingredients:

1 packet of white bread or brown bread.

For frying: oil

For Stuffing:

·       5 to 6 boiled Potatoes

·       ½ cup boiled Green peas

·       2 chopped Chilies

·       1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic paste

·       1 teaspoon red Chili powder

·       1 teaspoon Turmeric powder

·       1 teaspoon Cumin coriander powder

·       ¼th teaspoon of Mustard seeds

·       Curry Leaves

·       Chopped Coriander

·       1 tablespoon Lemon juice/ chat masala

·       Salt

·       Oil

For batter:

·       1 cup Gram flour (Besan)

·       1 teaspoon red Chili powder

·       ½ teaspoon Turmeric

·       ½ teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste

·       ½ teaspoon Salt

·       ½ teaspoon Carom seeds

·       Water as needed

Method:

To make stuffing, heat a pan on a medium flame. Add 1 tablespoon of oil, then add mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds start fluttering add asafodita, chopped curry leaves, green chilies, ginger garlic paste. Saute well (till raw smell disappears). Then add boiled green peas into the tadka. Slow the flame. Now add all the spices, like red chili powder, turmeric powder, and cumin coriander powder. Mix it properly. Now add boiled potatoes, salt and chopped coriander. Mix once. Now add 1 tablespoon lemon juice and mix it. Switch off the flame. Now the stuffing is ready.

Now take a mixing bowl. Add 1 cup gram flour. Into the gram flour add red chili powder, turmeric, ginger garlic paste, carom seeds and salt. Now add water slowly, stir it. Make a fine batter.

Don’t make very thick or thin batter. The batter consistency should be medium.

Now heat a vessel with an oil for frying the pakoda on a medium flame. Till then, on the other side take the slices of bread. Cut their edges and fill the stuffing into the each bread slice. Cover the filled slice with another bread slice. Press with the hand to set properly and then cut those slices in triangle shape. Once all the triangles are ready, dip those triangles into the batter then drop into them into hot oil.

Keep the gas on a medium flame only. By this way, fry all the pakoda.

Serve hot with mint chutney and tomato ketchup.
