  • 250 gms Gavaar ( Cluster Beans)
  • 1 big size potato
  • For Masala:
  • ½ cup roasted peanuts
  • 7 to 8 garlic
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds and cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 big size chopped onion
  • Chopped coriander
  • ½ glass water


Wash the gavar and potaotes. Trim both the end of the gavar and chop into two pieces. Soaked the gavar in a hot water for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes drain the water from the gavar.

Peel the potato and cut into square shape.

In a mixture jar, add roasted peanuts, garlic, green chili, red chili powder, cumin coriander powder, garam masala and salt. Grind this mixture and make a fine powder.

Now heat pan, add oil. Once oil heated add, mustard and cumin seeds. Add curry leaves and chopped onion. Sauté well. Once onion change the color, add potatoes. Mix well. Keep the lid for 2 to 3 minutes. Then add peanut masala and mix well. (Remember, as we had already add the salt in a masala so, use the salt if required for further process.)

Now add gavar into it. Mix well. Keep the lid on a pan till potato and gavar cook. Add very little water for cooking.

Once subji cook add chopped coriander.  Mix well.

Serve hot with chapati.
