Palak Kofta Curry.

  • For Kofta:
    • 1 Big Bowl Chopped Spinach
    • Chopped Coriander
    • 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Chili Paste
    • 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
    • ½ Teaspoon Turmeric
    • ½ Teaspoon Carom Seeds
    • 2 Chopped green chilies
    • Asafoetida
    • 1 Bowl Besan
    • Salt
  • For Gravy:
    • 3 onion
    • 2 tomatoes
    •  6 to 7 garlic cloves
    • ½ inch ginger
    • 1 green chili
    • Oil
    • Salt
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 Teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 small piece of cinnamon
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 Green Cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Kasuri Methi
  • ½ cup thick curd
  • Water
  • Salt


For making kofta, add chopped spinach in a mixing bowl. Add chopped coriander, red chili powder, turmeric, carom seeds, salt, green chilies, asafoetida, ginger garlic chili paste and besan. Add all these ingredients, make a mixture. Now heat oil. Once oil heated make a round shape of ball of kofta mixture. Add those balls in oil. Fry it. Once fry from both the sides, remove it from oil and transfer it into the plate.

Now other side heat a kadai for making gravy paste.

Add chopped onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, chilies and oil. Fry all these on a low flame. Once it cool down, make a fine paste from mixture grinder.

Now heat the ghee in a kadai. Add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, clove and cardamom, sauté well. Now add onion tomato paste. Stir it on a low flame. Once it cook nicely add red chili powder, turmeric and garam masala powder. Mix well. Add kasuri methi and curd. Mix well. Once this gravy removes all the oil, add water and mix well. Allow to make boil. Once boil come add palak kofta into this gravy.  Boil for 3 to 4 minutes. Add chopped coriander. Switch off the gas.

Serve hot with roti or rice.
