Ingredients:

  • For Stuffing:
    • 1 Bowl Grated Coconut
    • 1 Bowl Shredded Jaggery
    • 1 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
    • ½ Cup roasted Cashew almond powder
    • 2 Tablespoon Ghee
  • For Covering:
    • 1 Bowl Rice Flour (Use Modak Flour)
    • 1 Bowl water
    • 1 Teaspoon Ghee
    • 1/3 Teaspoon Salt
  • 8 Haldi Leaf
  • Ghee

Method:

Firstly we prepare the coconut stuffing. Heat a kadai, add 2 tablespoon ghee. Once ghee melted add coconut and jaggery mixture into it. Mix well. Keep the gas on low flame. Keep stir it. After some time jaggery melts.

Keep stirring. Once mixture look dry, add cardamom powder and cashew almond powder into it. Mix well. Switch off the gas. The stuffing is ready.

Now for covering. Heat another kadai with one bowl of water. Add salt and ghee into the water. Mix well. Once water heated, add rice flour in it. Mix well. Switch off the gas. Keep the lid on it. After 5 minutes knead the dough properly. Apply some ghee on the hand then knead it.

Now, make the balls from this dough. Wash the turmeric leaf and clean it with cotton cloth. Keep these balls on turmeric leaf, and spread this dough with help of hand or you can also use rolling pin for spreading this dough.

Now take the 1 tablespoon of mixture and spread it on dough. Now fold the turmeric leaf in between. Like this make all the patolis.

For steaming these patolis, keep this patolis on sieve. Now heat a heavy bottom pot with the water. And keep this sieve on the top of the pot. Keep lid in the sieve. And allow steaming these patolis for at least 10 to 12 minutes on a medium flame.

After 10 to 12 minutes switch off the gas. After 2 minutes remove the lid from the sieve.

You can see the delicious patolis is ready to serve.

Pour cow ghee on the patolis. And enjoy.
