Potato Bhajiya Recipe.

·       2 big size Potatoes

·       Water

·       For frying

ü Oil

·       For batter

ü 1 cup Gram flour

ü 1 teaspoon Red Chili powder

ü ½ teaspoon Turmeric

ü 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste

ü 1 teaspoon Salt

ü Water

ü 1/3 teaspoon Carom seeds


Wash the potatoes cleanly in water. Cut the potatoes in thin round shape slices. You also remove the skin of potatoes and make the slices. Put the potato slices in the water.

Now, for making the batter. Take a mixing bowl. Add gram flour. Into the gram flour, add red chili powder, turmeric, ginger garlic paste, carom seeds and salt. 

Now add water and make a medium consistency batter. Mix it well.

Don’t make thin or thick batter. Batter consistency should be like, to cover the potato slices.

Before making bhajiya, check the taste of salt. Add salt if required.

Now heat a vessel on a medium flame. Pour oil in the vessel for frying bhajiya. Wait till oil get heated. Remove the water from the potato slices. Once oil heated, keep the stove on a medium flame.

Now take one one slices of potatoes and dip it into the batter. Cover both sides of slices into the batter and drop them into the oil one by one. Fry the bhajiya till turn’s golden brown and crisp. 

Then, remove the fried bhajiya into the plate with tissue paper.

Make all the bhajiya. Serve hot with tomato sauce. You can also sprinkle some chat Masala on the bhajiya.
