Spring Onions Subzi with Gram Dal Recipe.

  • 2 cup chopped spring Onions
  • 1 chopped Onion
  • ½ cup soaked Gram Dal
  • 5 to 6 Curry Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoons Red Chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Mustered seeds
  • Pinch of Asafoetida
  • 1/3 cup grated Coconut
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoons Oil


Heat a kadai on a medium flame, add oil. Once oil heated, add mustard seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.

Then add, chopped onions. Cook the onions till change the colour. Add ginger garlic paste. Saute well. Then add red chili powder, turmeric. Mix well. Then add soaked gram Dal.

Now add chopped spring onions and salt. Mix it well. Keep lid on a kadai. Allow to cook the subzi on a slow flame.

It will take at least 10 minutes to cook. Once subzi cooked, add grated coconut. Again mix well. Now switch off the flame.

Serve this subzi with phulka or bhakari.
