  • 1 cup sabudana (Sago)
  • 1 cup samo rice/ Bhagar/ Variche Tandul/ Barnyard Millet
  • 1 boiled potatoes
  • ½ cup roasted peanut
  • Salt
  • Oil/ ghee
  • Water


Wash and Soaked the sabudana and samo rice for 4 hours.

After 4 hours, grind the both with boiled potatoes and roasted peanut.  Don’t use much water for grinding.  Make a batter in a medium consistency.  Not too thick or not too runny.

Add salt into the batter and mix well. Batter is ready to make ghavan. Now, heat tava, grease it with oil and pour the batter on it with spoon and spread it. Allow to cook for a minute.  Add some ghee on the top. Once it golden and crisp, turn the ghavan. Allow to cook on the other side.  Remove it from the pan.

And make all the ghavan like this.

Serve hot with coconut Chutney.
